Reiki & Trauma: A Gentle, Supportive Space

You deserve a space where you don't have to be on guard. You don't have to hold everything together here.

Living with the effects of trauma can make everyday life feel exhausting.

  • You may experience anxiety, overwhelm, restlessness, disconnection, or a constant sense of alertness. Sometimes, what you need most is simply an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and feel supported.

  • Reiki offers a quiet, gentle space to pause and reconnect with the present moment.

  • You don't have to explain what happened. You don't have to talk about your trauma. And you don't have to arrive feeling a certain way.

Your Safety and Comfort Come First

We recognize that having a sense of control and choice can be especially important after difficult or traumatic experiences. ‍ ‍Before and during your session, we take time to understand what helps you feel comfortable. You remain in control throughout your experience.

You can:

  • Choose hands-on or hands-off Reiki

  • Ask questions or request adjustments

  • Let us know what feels comfortable or uncomfortable

  • Take a break at any time

  • End your session whenever you choose

  • Decide how much—or how little—you want to share

There is no pressure to participate in anything that doesn't feel right for you.

You Don't Have to Talk About Your Trauma

  • Reiki is not psychotherapy, and you never need to share details of your experiences.

  • You may want to talk about how you’re feeling, spend the session quietly, or simply rest and breathe.

  • You get to decide what feels right for you.

When There Is Space to Feel

  • Sometimes we carry difficult experiences quietly for a very long time. In a safe and supportive environment, emotions may naturally come to the surface.

  • You may cry. You may feel relief. You may notice memories or emotions. Or you may feel nothing at all and simply rest.

  • There is no need to make anything happen. We offer space for whatever arises with compassion, respect, and without judgment.

  • There is no “right” way for your session to unfold.

A Moment to Pause

During a Reiki session, you might choose to focus on:

  • Taking a break from daily demands

  • Slowing your breathing

  • Feeling supported and cared for

  • Connecting gently with your body

  • Creating quiet space for yourself

  • Simply resting without having to accomplish anything

Your experience is your own. You are welcome to move at your own pace.

You don't have to hold everything together here.

Reiki as Complementary Support

Reiki is a complementary wellness practice, not a treatment for PTSD. It does not replace psychotherapy, medication, or other professional care.

If you are living with PTSD, Reiki can be received alongside the care and support you choose from qualified healthcare professionals.

Sometimes something shifts when we finally have enough safety to stop holding everything alone.
